Festival of Voices
Download Rehearsal ScheduleThe Festival of Voices is looking for motivated volunteer singers who believe passionately in the power of music to shape worship and transform lives. Under the leadership of Kenneth Dake, the Festival of Voices presents a broad range of choral repertoire in worship each month and in concerts throughout the year. Monday evenings’ high-energy rehearsals leave people feeling inspired and challenged. Two half-day Saturday retreats provide fun, fellowship, and deeper exploration of  inspiring texts and soul-stirring harmony. The nurturing and supportive community of the choir offers a vital spiritual resource and forges lasting relationships with others on the journey.

Rehearsals are held Monday evenings, and the choir is featured in an annual Advent Concert, in the Good Friday liturgy, and as part of a grand Spring Choir Festival. Potential volunteers should be able to read music and commit to regular attendance. Contact Ken Dake for information on how you can become a member of this ministry.

PRAYING TWICE
A CONCERT A LA CARTE
Sunday, March 14 | 1:30pm

“Whoever sings prays twice.” This quote attributed to St. Augustine serves as the inspiration for a 60-minute musical presentation in Marble’s Sanctuary centered on sung prayer.

We know that music can transport us in ways speech alone cannot. And speech can convey wisdom and spirituality that music alone cannot. But when music and words are joined in sung prayer the result is often a profound language of the soul, and a transcendent encounter with the divine.

Hosted by Kenneth Dake with the Sanctuary Choir and soloists including Camellia Johnson (soprano).

No admission charge; a free-will offering will be accepted.
