During the Vigil...

Please pray with us for each prayer that is read aloud:
Please pray by name and need for each request. To maintain confidentiality, we ask that you refrain from attempting direct communication with anyone named on a prayer request. Thank you for your discretion and understanding.

We suggest that you:
Listen to each prayer request and ask for God’s touch upon each person; Envision the person or concern surrounded by God’s healing light; Do not worry if you don’t know the person or problem (God does); Surrender to the Almighty and Loving God any request too hard for you to pray; Think of prayer as a normal conversation between God and you; Remember prayer is a gift. Thank God for the privilege of prayer and for His loving answer; Take your time (this is Holy Time); Do not be dismayed if your thoughts wander – bring them gently back to focus.

To help focus your prayer here are some helpful scriptures: (Please feel free to pray with a Bible)

Jesus said, “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him [her], so that your Father in heaven may forgive you...” - Mark 11:24, NIV

Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. - Matthew 7:7-8, NRSV

Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. - Psalm 61:1, NRSV

Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. - Jeremiah 33:3, NRSV

Thou art coming to a King, large petitions with thee bring; For his grace and power are such, none can ever ask too much. - Old Hymn

Prayer alone can wear down our frightful resistance to God. - Louis Evely

It is not so true that “Prayer changes things” as that prayer changes us, and then we change things. When we pray, things remain the same, but we begin to be different. - Oswald Chambers

Thank you for your Praying Presence. Please know that you can also use this time to pray for you.
