Deacon & Secretary
(Board member since 2021, Marble member since 2019)
Marble became home to John and Terri Hupalo in 2017 after they returned to NYC after living in Boston since 2003. During that time, John’s faith journey led him from the Roman Catholic Church to the United Church of Christ. John is forever grateful to Terri for bringing them and their two adult daughters to Marble to celebrate Easter 2017.
John’s professional career has been focused on education finance. He is the founder and CEO of Invite Education, a mission driven company providing tools to help families save, plan and pay for college. He previously served as Senior EVP and CFO of The First Marblehead Corporation (FMD:NYSE), in various roles at several Wall Street firms and as an aide to a Congressman on Capitol Hill. He co-authored Plan and Finance Your Family’s College Dreams and regularly appears in print, radio and television media.
He did his undergraduate work at Boston University, where he was a 400 meter hurdler, and earned his MBA at New York University. John is currently First Assistant Chief of the Point O’Woods Volunteer Fire Company and the Chair of two Point O’Woods committees: Insurance and Risk, and Wastewater.
