Marble Collegiate Church Explores America After Roe v. Wade with Gloria Steinem, Faye Wattleton and Kathryn Kolbert

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(New York, N.Y., November 7, 2022) Marble Collegiate Church will host America After Roe v. Wade: Where Do We Go From Here? with guest speakers Gloria Steinem, founder of Ms. Magazine and women’s rights advocate; Faye Wattleton, longtime Marble member, former co-founder and president of the Center for the Advancement of Women and past president of Planned Parenthood; and Kathryn Kolbert, reproductive rights attorney and pioneer for reproductive freedom, on Wednesday, November 9, at 7:00pm in the historic Marble Sanctuary at 1 W. 29th Street at Fifth Avenue.

Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 Supreme Court decision protecting people’s right to have an abortion in the United States, was overturned this past June. The decision dismantled 50 years of legal protection and paved the way for individual states to curtail or outright ban abortion rights. Gloria Steinem, Faye Wattleton and Kathryn Kolbert will discuss the impact of the Supreme
Court’s Roe decision, its ramifications on all people and where the country goes from here.

The program, presented by the Marble Women’s Ministry and GIFTS, Marble’s LGBTQ+ fellowship, is free and will be streamed live on the Marble Church website at MarbleChurch.org/Watch

“The overturning of Roe v. Wade not only put women’s health into jeopardy, especially those marginalized in our society, but it also raises questions about our civil liberties, right to privacy and the future. This is why we must be asking, where do we go from here?” – Dr. Michael Bos, Senior Minister, Marble Church
