Dr. Michael B. Brown
Dr. Michael B. Brown was the Senior Minister of Marble Collegiate Church from February 2009 to April 2018. Dedicated to Marble’s legacy of acceptance and outreach, Dr. Brown expanded the church’s ministry worldwide via interactive technology through live streaming Worship, his TalkBack sessions, and online Small Groups.
He is the recipient of both the Circuit Rider Certificate of Merit from The United Methodist Church and the John L. Borchert Award for Christian Communications and has served as preacher for The Protestant Hour and Day 1 radio programs. As Senior Minister of Marble, Dr. Brown has been featured on Faith-based Holiday specials on NBC, CBS, and PBS. Dr. Brown is the author of seven books and a contributing author to eleven others. He has been included in the "Great American Preachers” book series and in 2012 was a consultant for the Broadway show Grace. His latest book is A Five-Mile Walk. He is also a regular contributor to Thrive Global and Huff Post. He has taught at The University of North Carolina-Asheville, New Testament at High Point University, and Congregational Change at Wake Forest University Divinity School. A frequent lecturer, preacher, and motivational speaker, addressing both religious and secular groups, Dr. Brown uses humor and anecdotes to describe a philosophy of life assured to bring meaning, joy, and hope to those who practice it.
