Crucifixion and Pentecost
Dedication: December 6, 1998

Upper Scene (John 15:13): The left panel portrays the crucifixion of Jesus. At the very center of our Christian faith stands this powerful symbol of God’s unconditional love for us. To the right is the joy of Pentecost; we see our church as a place where new life is experienced and ourselves as people of the Spirit (Acts 2).
Lower Scene (Matthew 26:36-46): Christ’s agony in the garden is depicted in the left panel. We identify with Jesus in his struggle to discern the will of God in our lives. The right panel reminds us that as we stand before the empty tomb the Cross can only be seen in light of the Resurrection.
